Jón Torfi Jónasson is professor of Eduction in the
Faculty of Social Science at the Univeristy of Iceland,
the chairman of the University International Committee
and has held the post of dean of the Faculty of Social
Science. His principal concerns have been the
relationship between ICT and ideas about learning, in
particular related to transfer of learning issues.
Recently he has turned his attention to the history and
development of educational systems, in particular the
development of secondary, vocational, higher and adult
education and has compared Nordic developments in these
areas. He has written about the problems of vocational
education, the
academic drift in both secondary and tertiary education
and the forces
driving educational expansion at those levels. |
