Appointed researcher at The Norwegian Institute of Adult
Education, 1992, later The Adult Eduaction Insitute (VOX)
and from 2004 employed at the Norwegian University of
Science and Technology (NTNU. Main reserch interests:
Adult popular education, the history and policy of adult
education, comparative research.
Co-editor of the
Nordic Yearbook (Adult Education Research in Nordic
countries) 1993-97, chief editor 1998-2000. Contributed
to a great number of papers and articles in different
journals and a couple of reports on the history of adult
education in Norway. Thesis for the doctorate 2004: Frå
folkeopplysning til vaksenopplæring 1800-2003 (From
popular education to adult education).
